![]() So building on that, the general galra sensitivity to light (see (3.) below) means that they tend to favour rich, dark, highly saturated colours over pale pastels which bounce light more easily. so again the galra saw more success in those members of their species that most closely matched the purple tones of their environment. The Dox hailed from Daibazaal’s dense jungle areas that were darker due to the thick foliage, the leaves of which were commonly red meaning that the thick canopy bounced more red light and so the undergrowth was lightly deprived of it. The Aalk’s ancestors originated from Daibazaal’s mountains, the high altitudes of which meant that the air was thinner (simply put, the less air molecules there are the more transparent said air is, showing more of the black space), and as a result this would have slightly darkened the sky to a deeper shade, turning red to - you guessed it - more of a purple. ![]() ![]() ![]() I am personally of the opinion that the great desert wastelands that covered a vast majority of Daibazaal’s surface were comprised of purple sand, and so the most successful Byal & Kyx ancestors were those whose fur best camouflaged them against said sands as this allowed them to hunt with greater efficiency, increasing survival, potential to reproduce, and potential for their kitlings to survive and reproduce.
